Change menu colour when it hits a section

I’ve been looking for a simple way of making elements to change colour when they overlay certain section without using any libraries or CSS mix-blend-mode, in this instance, we will be looking at a menu icon.

This could be used for other ‘fixed’ elements on the page, you may need to adjust the offset for them individually.
